The Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system relies on a network of high-precision cameras and sensors designed to detect surrounding vehicles and environmental features, helping the driver accurately identify suitable parking spaces and improve overall parking efficiency.

■ Camera images
Because the Subaru Solterra uses specialized wide-angle cameras, the colors and visual representation on the display may slightly differ from real-world conditions. This is a normal characteristic of the system and should be taken into account when evaluating surroundings.
■ Precautions for use
For comprehensive details regarding system limitations and display characteristics, refer to the "MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL".
- Visible range of each display screen
- Camera system specifications and behavior
- Differences between displayed images and actual road conditions
- Differences between displayed objects and real-world objects
■ Detection range of the cameras and sensors
- If a parked vehicle is located behind the intended parking space and the distance becomes too great, the Subaru Solterra sensors may no longer detect it. Additionally, depending on the size, shape, or condition of the parked vehicle, detection performance may be reduced or unavailable.
- Objects other than vehicles, such as pillars, walls, or barriers, may not always be detected correctly. In some cases, detection of such objects may lead to incorrect alignment of the target parking position.
■ Situations in which parking space lines may not be recognized properly
- Under the following conditions, the Subaru Solterra may have difficulty
detecting parking space markings:
- When parking areas do not have painted lines and are marked by physical objects such as ropes or blocks
- When parking lines are faded, worn, or obscured by dirt
- When the road surface is bright (e.g., concrete), reducing contrast with painted lines
- When markings are colors other than standard white or yellow
- When operating in dark environments such as underground garages or nighttime conditions
- When the road is wet, reflective, or contains puddles after rain
- When sunlight directly hits the Subaru Solterra cameras, especially during sunrise or sunset
- When the parking area is covered with snow, ice, or de-icing materials
- When road repairs, markings, or objects such as bollards interfere with recognition
- When the road surface has uneven brightness or coloration
- When camera lenses are fogged due to temperature changes
- When shadows from vehicles, trees, or structures distort visibility
- When camera lenses are dirty or covered with water droplets
- In the following scenarios, the Subaru Solterra may misidentify or incorrectly
align the target parking space:
- Presence of repair marks, obstacles, or surface irregularities in the parking area
- Wet or reflective road surfaces
- Low-light or strong backlight conditions
- Uneven brightness or surface texture
- Parking spaces located on slopes
- Nearby diagonal markings such as access aisles
- Shadows cast by surrounding vehicles or objects
- Installation of accessories that obstruct camera visibility
- Faded or obscured parking lines
- Environmental shadows affecting recognition accuracy
WARNING
■ Precautions for the cameras and sensors
- Due to the optical characteristics of the Subaru Solterra camera lenses,
the perceived position and distance of objects on the display may differ from
actual conditions.
For accurate interpretation, always refer to the "MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL".
- Always follow proper usage guidelines for the SUBARU Parking Assist system, as incorrect usage may lead to sensor malfunction and increase the risk of an accident.
- In the following situations, sensor accuracy may be compromised. Exercise
additional caution:
- If a parked vehicle near the target space causes incorrect positioning on the display, the Subaru Solterra sensors may be misaligned. In such cases, have the system inspected by an authorized SUBARU dealer.
- Avoid installing accessories near sensor detection zones, as this may interfere with proper operation.
Turning the Advanced Park system on/off
Activate or deactivate the Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system by pressing the main control switch.
If the switch is pressed while the system is actively assisting, the parking assistance operation will be immediately canceled.
■ Operating conditions of the Advanced Park
The Subaru Solterra Advanced Park function will initiate only when all of the following conditions are satisfied:
- The brake pedal is firmly depressed
- The vehicle is completely stationary
- The driver's seat belt is properly fastened
- The steering wheel is not being actively turned
- The accelerator pedal is not pressed
- All doors, including the rear hatch, are securely closed
- The outside rear view mirrors are fully extended
- The parking brake is released
- Dynamic radar cruise control is not active
- Systems such as ABS, VSC, TRAC, PCS, and PKSB are not currently operating
- The Subaru Solterra is not positioned on a steep incline
- VSC and TRAC systems are enabled
If the Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system does not activate, carefully review the message displayed on the multimedia screen for guidance.
The Subaru Solterra Advanced Park system combines multiple sensors and intelligent processing to enhance parking convenience, but proper environmental conditions and driver awareness remain essential for safe and accurate operation.
